Be confident you understand the KS1 writing criteria and are accurately assessing your children’s writing against the statutory framework.
Delegates will have the opportunity to explore and unpick through professional discussion led by a subject specialist and Norfolk Lead Moderator. Through an exploration of the statutory criteria, delegates will be equipped with the subject knowledge they need and have an opportunity to find examples in children’s writing in order to assess accurately.
This course is followed by a second, hands-on session ‘Getting it right: Collaborative moderation’ and participants would benefit hugely from an opportunity to work with teachers outside their school or cluster in a supportive, collaborative environment.
By the end of the participants will:- - experienced structured and supportive moderation;
- leave more confident they can accurately apply the framework across children’s writing;
- know which aspects they need to develop;
- have identified practice from other schools that may be of benefit.
Delegates will need to put together a collection of evidence for one child (at any standard) and have made an initial assessment against the statutory framework for the collection. Two further copies of the collection would need to be made and then bought to moderation.
