Moderator Led Assessment Networks - KS2 Fakenham Junior School

Outline

The events will be hosted by LA moderators in their schools. All moderators have been trained by the LA to lead these sessions, in order to ensure consistency in messages.

Description

The events will be hosted by LA moderators in their schools. All moderators have been trained by the LA to lead these sessions, in order to ensure consistency in messages.

Key messages will be disseminated to teachers across the two events in November/December and in February, so it is important that teachers attend both dates. At each network event, moderators will brief teachers on key messages; use standardisation activities to develop understanding of the standards and the threshold between them; and facilitate discussions between teachers about judgements made using their own evidence bases.

The focus of the twilights will be:
  • November/December – The writing frameworks – an in-depth look at some of the criteria for EXS and GDS.
  • February –The writing frameworks – an in-depth look at the remaining criteria for EXS and GDS.

Please note that delegates will need to bring:
  • School/own copy of the assessment frameworks and exemplification materials (hard copy or electronic)
  • November/December - An evidence base for 2 pupils who are on track to achieve the greater depth standard in writing.
February – An evidence base for 2 pupils for writing; one who is on track to achieve GDS and one who is on the threshold of EXS and GDS.
