An introduction to the annual financial reporting requirements for academies.


Each year academies must prepare a set of financial statements and reports to provide a true and fair view of their financial position at year end and financial activities that have taken place throughout the year.

In this course we will examine the purpose, importance and content of the key statements and reports, the differences between them and how they interact.


Understand the financial reporting requirements that apply to academies.
Be able to identify the key components of financial statements.
Be able to explain the content and purpose of the SOFA and Balance Sheet.


Finance Officers, Business Managers, Headteachers & Governors of educational establishments recently converted to or considering converting to Academy status.
