Training for those who attended the Safeguarding in Education FULL DAY course since April 2010
From April 2012, those experienced Senior Designated Professionals (SDP) or Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who have previously attended the Safeguarding in Education training course and require a two-year update in line with statutory guidance will be able to access a half-day refresher. This course is only available to Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL) and Alternates who have attended the Safeguarding in Education Course since April 2010.
Schools are expected to have a process in place to keep children safe by providing a safe environment for children to learn and to identify those children at risk of significant harm.
- To describe the role and responsibilities of the Senior Designated Professional.
- To describe key safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
- To self evaluate compliance with statutory guidance and current safeguarding activity in school.
