Description

When taught effectively, knowledge about safer sex and sexual health ensures young people are equipped to make safe, informed and healthy choices as they progress through adult life and to enjoy safe, fulfilling and healthy sexual relationships. Pupils should be taught the law about sex, sexuality and sexual health in inclusive way. All pupils should feel that the content is relevant to them and their developing sexuality.

Outcomes

  • Increase confidence to use and teach correct scientific terms for the internal and external sexual parts of the body.
  • Use simple, fun teaching strategies to teach about a range of STI’s and contraception methods developmentally, through a spiral curriculum.
  • Be able to deliver an inclusive condom demonstration.
  • Identify assessment of learning strategies.
