Educational Psychology and Specialist Support (EPSS) is the main specialist service commissioned by Norfolk schools to support children with special educational needs and / or disabilities, their families and educational settings. It comprises professionals such as Educational, Clinical and Occupational Psychologists, Specialist Learning Support Teachers, Behaviour and Autism Consultants, and Educational Social Workers. EPSS uses evidenced informed, graduated, psycho-pedagogical approaches to maximise outcomes for particular children, in the context of their school and other relevant systems.
Each cluster/school can chose from a variety of packages offered by EPSS. Our trading team (details below) will assist with any questions you may have at this stage. Once you have purchased a package, a key EPSS professional (the Coordinating Educational Psychologist - CEP) will discuss with you how best to tailor the time you purchased to your needs. This person will also be your first point of contact for any professional queries you may have throughout the contract with EPSS, All annual packages imply an even split of time between psychologists and other EPSS professionals.
EPSS provides a two-tier service delivery model: 1. Regular contact with clusters and schools (involving planning, training, consultations, and assessments) by EPSS professionals, under the coordination of a CEP. 2. Specific agreed specialist interventions and project work.
