Supporting musical journeys: from beginner to beyond
The Music Service supports you to deliver high quality teaching and learning for your pupils. It offers a range of services and products as well as being the strategic lead for the Norfolk Music Hub.
The service aims to:
•Promote high quality music education in Norfolk schools both in the curriculum and through instrumental and vocal teaching
•Promote and encourage all children as music makers
•Provide a broad and balanced programme of music making opportunities including ensembles, that reflect and promote cultural diversity
•Work collaboratively with all partners in Norfolk and with other LA services to achieve the aims of the LA and the County Council
What does the service provide?
•Instrumental and vocal lessons for children & young people
•Supports an instrument hire scheme for all its pupils
•Whole Class Instrumental Teaching (WCIT)
•A music curriculum for the foundation stage, KS1 and KS2
•Leads weekly bands and ensembles
•Boasts a world class County Youth Orchestra and Senior Symphonic Wind Band
•Advises and works in partnership with all Norfolk schools
•Delivers a programme of CPD for teachers and music leaders
•Leads and delivers a Trinity Level 4 Certificate for Music Educators
